Live Simply
Drained and tired,
I started the car and pointed it south.
Clocked out and homeward bound.
The day’s events rolled around my head,
a tango of worry and stress.
My music played with no-one listening to it.
I had no room for the lovely sounds, only the voices of tasks not yet done.
Rounding the corner, the moon silenced all but the radio.
Rising at sunset,
over mountains frosted with fall color.
She was adorned in silver white light,
a precious orb of diamonds and pearls.
Set into a fire, content to burn low and slow.
Warming the night.
Enchanted,
I left the road and opened the door.
Not wanting anything in between that moon and me.
Just us,
alone in a hay field.
The breeze, full of all it had passed through on its way to this place.
I sat against one of the hay monoliths.
The grandness made me feel small,
like a child meeting a great queen.
A being so exquisite the whole world grows thick with elegance in her company.
My fears and woe,
dwarfed by it all.
In that moment of abundant beauty I was rich beyond my wildest dreams,
to be alive and bare witness to such regal scene.
Just beautiful Ellis, thank you.

THANK YOU!!! Full disclosure; my name is really Ember. Elli was the name of my first dog, so I take it as a complement. Be well and thank you for reading!
