Live Simply
Next week will mark one year since I started this little blog. I’m not entirely sure what I was doing when I did. Truthfully, I still don’t have much of a clue but I have come to realize that’s ok.
I have never been one for daily diaries (I did keep one in 7th grade that I wrote in hieroglyphics during an extended “Egyptian phase” I went through.) The thought of putting my writing out there for public review has always made me extremely nervous.
I am dyslexic. Writing is a tremendous effort for me, if I intend for others to be able read it. I am proud of myself for taking the time this year to write consistently.
To date I have published 171 posts (with 2 posts written by Ry.) We have gotten over 22,000 views, 1200 visitors and 180 followers from over 100 different countries.
I. WAS. NOT. EXPECTING. THAT.
It is humbling. Having others not only take time to read but respond is absolutely astounding.
This has been quite the journey and there have been many surprises along the way. Most of all I have been honored to have all the positive feedback and tried to learn a lesson from the negative.
People actually taking the time to comment, question, ‘like’ and ‘share’ is not something I was ready for but I would be lying if I said it has not been a huge motivation.
I am not writing this post to gloat but rather to acknowledge all the encouragement that has meant so much to me. I want to give something back to the people who have taken the time out of their day to look through the window into our life.
I want to send out some Wicked Rural care packages to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd people to respond to this post, if you would be so kind as to go to the “3…2..1. Contact” tab on the top of the page and give me the address you would like your prize sent to.
That’s it.
I wanted to say “Thank you” to everyone who has been encouraging (and patient with my many typos.) I think acknowledgment is one of the simplest and kindest things we can do for one another and I hope that there are people out there who will be interested.
I promise not to send bees or eggs.
Be well and thank you for this past year!
